As is well known, Christianity has managed to make itself a prevalent belief system in the United States. That statement also applies to a place known as Watertown, a rather small city in Tennessee. Let’s look at churches in Watertown.
Watertown has a truly amazing eighteen churches to its name. While we won’t be going over all of them, let’s get started with the Watertown Church of Christ. This Church has the following gathering times: Bible Class on 10:00 A.M. (10:00 in 24-hour time) on Sundays, and 7:00 P.M. (19:00 in 24h time) on Wednesdays; 11:00 A.M. (11:00 in 24-hour time) worship on Sundays; and 6:00 P.M. (18:00 in 24h time) worship on Sundays.
Watertown Church of Christ bills itself an autonomous, independent congregation of Christians whose goal is to restore the New Testament church to our time, to determine from the Bible what that church was originally, and then to make their own assembly and worship as much like the original as possible. Watertown Church of Christ strives to be a Bible-centered church, and also to hold the teachings of Jesus Christ in highest regard and stick to them.
How did First Baptist Church come about? It has a rich history spanning over a century. It was built on a solid foundation of spreading God’s Word, beginning in 1903 when 125 members of a different church, Round Lick Baptist Church, decided that it would be better for the Baptist cause at Watertown to have a church near the center of town. Watertown First Baptist Church is here for the self-proclaimed purpose of: magnifying Jesus through worship and word; moving believers in Jesus toward maturity and ministry; and making Jesus known to neighbors and the nation as a whole.
